Nxgen Wholefoods Beef Collagen is skin, bone, and cartilage collagen. Skin collagen is converted into smaller polypeptides composed of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline chains using a natural enzyme, enhancing its bioavailability.

The peptides are reduced to less than 1000 Daltons for better bioavailability (absorption).  When peptides of this size are made, this is called collagen hydrolysate, collagen peptides, or collagen protein. If skin collagen isn’t hydrolysed, its structure is a much larger protein chain than that of gelatin, which isn’t as bioavailable, so less is absorbed through the small intestines and into the blood. 

Gelatin requires greater effort in the stomach for digestion and isn’t as bioavailable as collagen peptides. There are no synthetic chemicals used in the manufacture of this skin, bone, and cartilage collagen. 

Collagen supplies amino acids, including glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline.

Bone marrow provides specialised cells (stem cells and base cells), growth factors, and fat-soluble activators.

Liver contains bioavailable retinol (vitamin A), heme iron, B12, and folate.
