Benefits
They are organically grown and harvested on the sixth day of growing, when nutrients and important compounds are at their highest. Then they are gently freeze-dried to preserve the glucoraphanin and myrosinase.
When the capsule enters the gut, stomach acids break down the cellulose capsules, creating a reaction between the myrosinase enzyme and the glucoraphanin molecule, which in turn produces sulphoraphane.
Glucoraphanin is the precursor of sulforaphane, and its content is greatly influenced by seed quality, pre-harvest factors, and process methods. Most broccoli sprout supplements are dried and grown in a way that destroys the myrosinase enzyme, which will dramatically reduce the amount of sulphoraphane that can be produced by the body from the glucoraphanin.
The reason why the broccoli sprouts are harvested on the sixth day is that this is when the levels of glucoraphanin and myrosinase are highest.
Broccoli sprouts contain higher levels of glucoraphanin and myrosinase than broccoli and broccoli seeds. In addition, NXGEN Wholefoods uses a proprietary seed variety that packs an even bigger punch.
Why take broccoli sprout capsules when you can buy fresh ones?
High-quality organic fresh broccoli sprouts are very difficult to source, and not all broccoli sprouts have the same high levels of myrosinase and glucoraphanin. They harvest and gently freeze-dry their broccoli sprouts to lock in the nutrients when they are most bioactive. Buying fresh from grocery stores doesn’t allow for optimising the bioactives. Once broccoli sprouts pass the six-day mark and are packed into plastic tubs, they begin to lose their nutrients. The longer they sit on the supermarket shelf, the bigger the decline in nutrients. Freeze drying retains the enzymes and nutrients at the same level as six-day fresh broccoli sprouts.
How many grams of fresh broccoli sprouts are used to make 1000 mg of freeze-dried powder?
1000 mg (1 gram) of freeze-dried broccoli sprouts powder is equivalent to consuming approximately twenty grams of fresh broccoli sprouts.

Why NXGEN Wholefoods
Why NXGEN Wholefoods?
NXGEN Wholefoods is a vertically integrated manufacturer, meaning it has full control over all parts of the sourcing and manufacturing process, from farm to capsule.
They buy directly from farmers, and they own and operate the freeze-drying technology and process. They use cryogenic milling, which prevents the heat and friction caused by traditional milling, which can damage fragile compounds. The final process of encapsulation and packing is done in their state-of-the-art factory in NSW, Australia.
They manufacture small batches for freshness and use a much lower and slower freeze-drying process than traditional freeze-drying, which preserves all the nutrients intact. As a result, each capsule is equivalent to eating the raw beets without the mess, but with the convenience of knowing that food safety and food quality are the best.
All batches are third-party tested for purity.
